Competition
I did a lot of ballroom dancing competitions with my teacher, and we did well in them. But he
didn't take the news well if I had to miss one.
The Hustle
Yep, that's me, hiding again. It wasn't that I disliked the guy, but I really HATED dancing the hustle.
Advance Notice
This was usually how much warning I got that I was going to perform. But heaven help me if I deliberately
"forgot" to bring my costume with me....
Pep Talk
I had a great teacher (Billy Howell, who later became a Latin Champion), but he was not known for his tact. Of course, he was usually right.
Mad
No one in my entire life has been able to wind me up the way that Billy could.
Music
Here we switch gears to my ballroom dancing cartoons. You wouldn't believe the fights teachers would have about who got to play what music next. We students really didn't much care what they played.
