Hiding I spend a LOT of time hiding - whether from my teacher or would-be dance partners, which led to quite a few cartoons along these lines. Fighting I liked my teacher a lot, but MAN did we ever have some knock down, drag out fights. We also both knew karate, and sometimes sparred a bit on the dance floor...which really freaked out the other students. Videotape My teacher often recorded our practice session so he could point out what I was doing wrong. I really hated watching myself on videotape. The Mirror The dance studio walls were all mirrors, so we could watch ourselves. Unfortunately, this led to some real disasters of people dancing straight into them. Tie My dance teacher used to pretend to beat me with the end of his tie when I messed up. I loved the idea of it being worn out from this.
