My Artwork

I've had a lot of interests that came and went over the years, but one constant of mine has always been art. I started cartooning when I was 7 years old (I still have it), although I didn't begin to publish my work until I was in college. Mostly I used a crow quill pen and ink (which is why you sometimes see splatters on them). My early style was based on James Thurber. With time, it evolved to something more my own. Medical School side-tracked me for a bit, although I began doing pencil and ink illustrations. I also sometimes used colored pencils or inks to color in my cartoons after they were drawn. This was a lot of fun for me, because I love bright colors. It was only after residency that I begin painting in oils, and sculpture came several years down the road after that. Recent years have seen me play with computer-drawn cartoons, as you see to the right. However, it just doesn't have the same emotion or feel as a cartoon drawn with a pen in ink.

Since then, I've had my paintings hanging in three different art galleries (all in Orlando, Florida) and shown and sold in art shows. However, recent years have seen me only painting for my own pleasure. I think I'm best at portraits, but I enjoy trying to stretch my talents to other areas -- some with more success than others. I also enjoy photography, both with film and high-end digital cameras. If you want to see a slideshow of all of the artwork I have posted at the present, click here...

I currently have the following image galleries up for display:

For many of the pages, you have a choice whether to only see 6 images with some explanatory text, or to see all 12 images but without any words. Look for the links below the main image to move back and forth between the two views.

A few of my other dance cartoons (I must literally have 400) also show up at www.clubsalsahull.co.uk with my permission.
